Join Clarissa Callesen—a former Rodeo Princess who left behind her cowboy boots and tiara for the wild adventure of life as an artist. She has been fortunate enough to work all of her adult life as a self employed artist, exploring many different artistic roles including tattoo artist, gallery owner, production potter, and currently assemblage artist and teacher. She exhibits throughout the Pacific Northwest at art festivals and selective galleries.

Join Lesley Venable—a self-taught mixed media, collage, assemblage artist who lives in Roanoke, Virginia with her art husband and their family of fur babies. She has traveled across many states, near and far, to attend and teach at art retreats. During down time you can find Lesley busy in her studio creating art, blogging or working with her online class site at "The Art of Altering".

Join Eva Sherman—who began playing with beads as a way to spend time with her daughters but soon discovered she really enjoyed it. In 2005, Eva traded in her architectural career for the opportunity to spend all her time among beads. Grand River Beads opened in Cleveland, Ohio, and where Eva now happily spend most days in the studio fooling with wire and metals.

She has just finished building her 80% recycled art studio and it will soon be featured in Studios Magazine. She loves vintage and antiques so much so that she combined them to form the word Vintiquities. She loves making art, blogging, and teaching others to make art and follow their creativity.

Join Mandy Russell—a self-taught mixed media artist and busy mom of two. She is particularly drawn to collage, assemblage, and jewelry making. She’s heavy-handed with the oil pastels and loves challenging her inner perfectionist by coloring outside the lines. Her work has been featured in Cloth Paper Scissors magazine, Collage in Color eMag, and Crafts ‘N’ Things Magazine. She also enjoys teaching art-related workshops and blogs almost daily.

Meet CREATE Instructor
Thomas Ashman!

Thomas Ashman is a mixed media artist, bookbinder, composer, and teacher, who lives and works in northern New Mexico. Drawing inspiration from his education in literature and experiences in the construction trades, Thomas developed his unique book binding technique to facilitate the use of unusual materials such as glass, sheet metal, and hardware for the binding and covering of quality handmade art journals.
